About this Event

During this two day workshop, students will lean into the world of abstraction and learn how to create expressive and inventive abstract paintings. Using a series of guided prompts and mark making techniques, we will focus on making paintings using intuition and experimentation as our guides. Acrylic paint will allow us to make many starts which we will be able to continue to build on, using layering and experimenting with other materials including graphite, charcoal, and crayons.

A note regarding paint - this is a suggested starting point. The goal is to at least have a warm and a cool of each of the primary colors. Plus a generous amount of Black and White. If you don’t have these exact colors, but have warms and cools of each of the primaries, perfect. If you have additional colors, great! Bring them along. I generally prefer to use Golden Heavy Body Acrylics, but please bring what you have on hand.
