Eligibility Criteria: Males and Females 18 & above years of age can participate in Margalla Hills Half Marathon.
Margalla Hills Half Marathon History:
Back in 2018, IRU organised the first ever Trail Half Marathon in Pakistan, the Margalla Hills Half Marathon. It was a big hit, attracting around 250 participants. The course took runners through the beautiful yet challenging trails of Margalla Hills, including Trail 4, Trail 6, Trail 3, and 5, as well as scenic roads along the foothills.Our aim as a responsible community is to ensure we are working to maximise the ways in which our events make a positive impact, so we are dedicating Margalla HIlls Half Marathon to the sustainability of our very own National Park; Margalla Hills National Park.
Cause:
National parks are special places that help keep our environment healthy. But sadly, many of them are being damaged by things like cutting down trees.
This marathon is a way to remind everyone that we need to protect places like the Margalla Hills National Park. When we join the marathon or support it, we're not just running or watching—we're helping to keep these natural areas safe. These parks are home to lots of different plants and animals, and they also do important things like keeping our climate stable and providing clean water.
During the marathon, we also teach people about how to visit parks responsibly and do things that help instead of harm them. By working together, we can make sure that our national parks stay beautiful and healthy for everyone to enjoy, now and in the future.
