About this Event
March Speaker Series: Beginning Farmers Share Their Stories
Our Speaker Series is back starting March 18th! This monthly event is a fun way to connect with beginning farmers and anyone interested in agriculture and the environment. Each month, we focus on a different topic, highlighting some of the difference-makers in our region. Enjoy hot wood-fired pizzas, cold drinks, and great conversation on the third Wednesday of each month through October.
4:30-5:30 p.m. - pizza, drinks, and networking
5:30-7:00 p.m. - presentation, discussion, and demonstration
7:00-7:30 p.m. - mingling time
March 18 will feature Catalina Gomez, who has worked at Full Belly Farm for many years and now is starting her own farm operation. She will discuss balancing working full time while starting her farm, how to get started with a small-scale poultry business, the challenges around transitioning to organic certification, and a lot more. This is a bilingual event (Spanish and English). Lots of resources for beginning farmers will be available.
This is a free event, but a $20 donation to help support our work is appreciated. Donations are always welcome.
