March for Home

Pride is not just a parade; it is a celebration and a protest. The theme of this year's Pride is 'Justice through Joy'. We at Townspeople can think of nothing more joyful or just than housing for everyone.

On July 16th at 10:00 am, we invite you to join our contingent as we 'March for Home' (with joy) in the 2022 San Diego Pride Parade.

Decades of research repeatedly shows that discrimination negatively impacts housing stability and community success. While great strides towards equity have been made, the disenfranchisement of entire groups of people continues. For instance, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, members of the LGBTQ+ community are “more likely to become homeless, and once homeless, more likely to endure discrimination and harassment that extends their homelessness.” At Townspeople, we believe housing is a human right as well as the foundation for health and wellness.

This Pride, and every Pride, we march with the aim of sending San Diegans a clear (and joyful) message that everyone deserves a home and the right to be who they are. If you would like to march with us, please RSVP today!
