March - Certification Office Hours

These hour-long sessions aim to provide you and your business with everything you need to know about the 1% for the Planet annual certification process. We invite any and all 1% for the Planet members across the global network to join.

These sessions will be led by our Member Success and Certification Team. They will go over how to certify via the member portal, approvable certification documentation, and more.

Agenda:

• 20 min: Certification Overview
• 40 min: Open Q&A. Members may come and go as needed. Our team will stay in the room for the full hour to answer everyone's questions.
• Post: The presentation will be shared with attendees after Office Hours are over.

What is certification?

Third-party certification allows members to leverage the 1% for the Planet logo as a verified seal of their commitment to people and the planet without the potential risks of greenwashing. In order to certify, members must upload their proof of revenue and their proof of donations (totalling at least 1% of their revenue) into the member portal within 120 days of their fiscal year ending. Once a member's documents are submitted, our team will review them, and if their 1% has been met, we will certify their fiscal year giving!

The annual certification provides credibility to the 1% for the Planet movement and to businesses that have made the 1% commitment. It is also an opportunity for members to assess and track the impact of their giving over time. Members must certify to renew their 1% for the Planet membership each year. More here.
