Just Keep Swimming: Building a Career, Leading Through Adversity, and Creating Impact Through Community
This session will be a practical and inspiring discussion on building a career in security through consistency, resilience, and service. Jason Kloss will share lessons from his journey across #operations, #leadership, and #entrepreneurship, using his long-distance #swimming experiences as a powerful parallel for navigating #challenges and sustaining momentum.
The session will also provide real-world insights into physical #security deployments across critical #infrastructure, #education, #municipal, and #commercial sectors, focusing on aligning stakeholders, integrating systems, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Finally, we will explore the importance of professional community and how engagement with #ASIS creates opportunities for growth, leadership, and collaboration across chapters.
This will be a great opportunity to connect with peers, learn from real experience, and strengthen our security community here in British Columbia.

Jason Kloss Bio
Jason Kloss is the Chapter Chair of ASIS International Toronto Chapter 193) (Jan 2026–present) and previously served as Chapter Treasurer (Jan 2024–Jan 2026).
He is the President of SoloSquid, providing professional services to audit, deploy, optimize, maintain and develop solutions for new and existing enterprise systems.
He has led business development and customer relationship management, delivering projects across critical infrastructure, education, municipal, and commercial sectors.
His security and technology experience includes roles with Axis Communications and Genetec, and work involving IoT, AI, and SaaS.
He completed a 65km solo swim across Lake Huron (2012) raising over $22,000 for cancer, and in 2023/2024 attempted twice a 51 km Lake Ontario swim, raising $76,000 for CAMH.
