Hi all
Workday again and we are doing it this time whatever the weather!
We are returning to St Martins Battery to hopefully finish the slopes below the battery and remove all the cut material using the miracle of fire :-)
Numbers permitting we will also be deploying an auxiliary force of specially trained volunteers onto another project around the gun sheds (BCB garage), details on the day!
This was a complex project to get off the ground, championed and supported enthusiastically by the EH Liaison Officer, Sarah Horan, and requiring consents from DDC and Historic England to work on the monument and we have very tightly controlled areas of work so there will be a comprehensive briefing prior to the start of the work day and before any work can commence.
St Martin's car park won't be closed this time as we are working below the battery so parking will be on site as before and as usual all PPE etc will be supplied. This is a muddy site in places so proper footwear is essential.
***Please note*** We will be meeting at St Martin's battery car park for this work day and not at the Drop Redoubt as usual.
