Roundtable discussion and creative mapping with the Oxford African Caribbean Communtiy Archive and Brookes researchers
About this Event

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming roundtable event celebrating the Oxford African Caribbean Community Archive (OACCA) and envisioning archival futures!

Join us on Thursday 18 June from 2-6 pm for an afternoon programme bringing together members of the community archive, community archivists, academics and everyone interested in the future of the archive:

2 - 3.30 pm Discussion with invited guest speakers on Oxford’s African Caribbean histories, community archiving, and the next generation of custodians of the archive.

4 - 5 pm Creative Mapping led by Khisha Clarke and Rachel Barbaresi

5 pm Caribbean Buffet

The exhibition ‘Where are you from? Where are you really from?’, part of this year’s Windrush programme, will also be on view at the venue, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation in an engaging setting.

This event is organised by A Place For We, our research group who will also give insights into plans for future collaborations between Oxford Brookes researchers, community archivists and practitioners. Funded by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Oxford Brookes University.
