Map of the Woulds:ANGULAR ROCK, DARK JAZZ AND GOOFBALL FUNK. MAP OF THE WOULDS EMERGES FROM THE LAWLESS FRINGES OF THE SEATTLE MUSIC SCENE WITH SIMPLE 17-CHORD POP TO CHALLENGE YOUR BRAIN AND BUTT.TLDR: AVANT GARDE POP, FUNKY PROG AND PSYCHEDLIC ROCKNick Drummond is a mainstay in the Emerald City. Whether performing solo with nimble fingers and elastic vocals or backed by some of the regions most beloved players, Drummond brings his sonic cornucopia to audiences in rooms of all sizes and states. Hes sold out multiple nights at Jazz Alley and the Triple Door, headlined regional festivals, and played the Showbox and Neumos, fingers dancing on guitars and electric banjos. While the full Nick Drummond Band features some of the most celebrated musicians from the PNW scene - renowned organist Joe Doria, the pocket-perfect combination of bassist Mark Mattrey and drummer Ehssan Karimi, and the celebrated guitarist Dan Schwindt - his solo shows remain surprisingly engaging, filled with captivating songs and an infectious groove thats hard to ignore. Audiences are even known to get up and dance. The Nick Drummond Band released its debut record, Eye of the Storm, in 2020 and it immediately earned acclaim from local press and radio, including regular rotation on KBCS 91.3 FM. The music has earned spins on KEXP and across the countrys college stations. Dubbed a composer of brilliant, Dionysian music by public radios Garrison Keillor, Drummond sings nourishing tunes perfect for banquets, caloric party songs and even the delightful lullaby by which to blow out the candle and prepare again for tomorrows indulgences.Born and raised in rural central Illinois, David Singley is a singer- songwriter- guitarist living in Saint Paul, Minnesota, whose music is born of the street, the country, and the academy. An experienced veteran with decades of backing world-class artists and performers, he has recently joined the Great Resignation and set his sights on his own artistic pursuits. His music evokes the golden era of the singer-songwriter: the late 60s and early-to-mid 70s; with its chameleonic stylistic twists and turns, as well as its memorable melodies and insightful, poetic lyrics. His music expresses a point-of-view that is at once highly personal and triumphantly global. His voice evokes traces of many of his influences: James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, Jackson Browne, Dan Fogelberg, and many others. His guitar playing is at once highly focused and passionate, impressive yet always absolutely appropriate to the song at hand. His 2021 album, The Long, Slow Fuse of Night, as well as his last seven singles, have all charted on Americana radio and have received substantial notice on YouTube. His next album, Fools Paradise, is set to drop on February 27, 2024. Follow up singles Cartoon Heart, and Dont Worry Bout Mama No More, are set for Spring and Summer, 2024 releases.
