Many Paths One Destination 2026: Recovery in Every Voice

This free annual event gathers people from the many paths of recovery to celebrate our common goal of freedom from addiction. We present a series of speakers with an optional $10 lunch, and additional information tables from recovery groups and organizations. We'll also be conducting a silent auction with proceeds benefiting Many Paths One Destination

Frank Somerville (Berkeley, CA)
A Berkeley native and five-time Emmy winner, Frank Somerville anchored the news for 30 years at KTVU, with earlier stops in Santa Rosa, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. Along the way he flew with the Blue Angels, witnessed two executions at San Quentin and an autopsy, and has been a vegetarian since age 12 on moral grounds. A father of two daughters, he now shares his own candid story of struggle and recovery.
Brandon Turner (San Diego, CA)
Brandon Turner is living proof that a life can be rebuilt. A San Diego skateboarding prodigy known as “Lil’ B,” he rose through Shorty’s and Osiris to legend status—then nearly lost it all to addiction, DUIs, and prison. Through recovery and hard inner work, he turned his comeback into a calling: founding and leading West Side Recovery, mentoring youth, and sharing his story so others know transformation is possible.
Jennifer Nauert-Lewis (Reweaving Network)
Jennifer Nauert-Lewis is the founder of the nonprofit Reweaving Network and a living testament to recovery and resilience. After surviving childhood abuse, addiction, prison, homelessness, and life-altering strokes and aneurysms that left her permanently disabled, she rebuilt her life through recovery, education, and service. Today she works in tribal health and higher education, helping others heal from trauma and substance use while championing culturally rooted pathways to wellness.
Michael P. (SMART Recovery)
Michael P. represents SMART Recovery in the Bay Area, offering a science-based, self-empowering alternative in the recovery landscape. Grounded in cognitive-behavioral tools rather than labels, SMART Recovery helps people build motivation, cope with cravings, manage thoughts and behaviors, and live balanced lives. Michael P. Has been facilitating SMART Recovery meetings since 2013. He is the SMART Recovery Northern California Regional Volunteer Support Coordinator. Michael also teaches the weekly Friday on going training session for SR facilitators.
