For 70 years, the Department of War Manufacturing Technology Program has served as the only DoW program with the statutory authority (10 U.S. Code 4841) to advance American manufacturing technology.
Its mission? Enable the U.S. to rapidly and affordably manufacture the best weapons systems in the world.
As a Nation-wide joint effort, the Department of War Manufacturing Technology Program brings together American manufacturing innovators to stay ahead of our adversaries. The Program comprises Military Services and DoW Agency investment programs operated out of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Defense Logistics Agency, and Office of the Secretary of War. Central to the Department of War Manufacturing Technology Program’s arsenal are the DoW Manufacturing Innovation Institutes (MIIs). These public-private partnerships are game-changing catalysts that connect the U.S. industrial base with emerging technologies needed to reestablish deterrence.
