Manos Magicas — Weaving Workshop
About this Event
Come make something with your hands.
Manos Magicas is a hands-on weaving workshop hosted aby Vero Mendoza as part of the programming for Codex of the Migrant / Codex del Fuego, our current exhibition curated by Maritza Torres.
We are thrilled to have Vero Mendoza in our space for an amazing natural dye workshop. Come and join us as we learn the magic and allure of Zapotec natural dying traditions. Vero is coming from Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca - let’s show some love and support! There is a 15-student max capacity, you’re not gonna want to miss this!
Weaving is one of the oldest forms of making a record — threads interlaced to create something that holds together, that carries meaning, that lasts. It is a fitting practice for an exhibition built around the codex tradition: the conviction that what we have lived and witnessed deserves to be recorded permanently, not lost in a feed.
No experience necessary. All are welcome. Come as you are and leave with something made by your own hands.
