About this Event
In this session we will explore the legal framework which protects both religious and other beliefs and discuss some of the practical issues and challenges which can arise when manifestation of those beliefs conflict with accepted norms or with those of other staff, including a review of some recent Tribunal decisions.
The session will be led by members of the VWV employment team. Kathy Halliday is a partner with over 30 years' experience acting for commercial, third sector and education clients. Kathy also sits as a part-time Employment Judge. Lorna Scully is a legal director in the team and is an experienced tribunal litigator and advocate. Lorna focuses on commercial, education and charity clients. Katie Hurst is a Senior Associate who predominantly advises in the HE sector. She is currently advising a number of universities in relation to disputes in this area.
