Talking about death, dying and end of life can feel awkward, emotional or uncomfortable. Many people worry about saying the wrong thing, upsetting a loved one or simply don't know how to approach the conversation, yet having these conversations can bring much-needed comfort, clarity and connection for people at the end of life and those closest to them.

To help tackle this issue, Marie Curie and Superdrug are launching Mani Curie Nail Bar, which will pop up in selected Superdrug Beauty Studios across the UK, offering guests a free gel manicure from a trained nail technician, alongside the opportunity to chat with a Marie Curie colleague and pick up helpful tips and guidance and conversation prompts for how to approach talking about end of life.

Built on the idea that everyday self-care moments can help people open up more naturally, the experience creates a relaxed, welcoming space to help people feel more confident on how to start these important discussions.

Because Marie Curie and Superdrug feel that talking about death should be as normal as getting your nails done.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern bookings for complimentary manicure appointments at the Mani Curie Nail Bar pop-up events hosted at selected Superdrug stores. By booking a slot via Eventbrite, you agree to these Terms in full.

Bookings are managed by the event organiser, The Academy Media Limited , a company registered in England and Wales with company number 03445022 whose registered office is at The Academy Sweeps Building, 6-7 St Cross St, London, United Kingdom, EC1N 8UA (the “Organiser”) on behalf of Superdrug Stores plc, a company registered in England with company number 00807043 and registered offices at 51 Sydenham Road, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 2EU (“Superdrug”), in partnership with Marie Curie a registered company with company numbers 00507597 and registered offices at One Embassy Gardens, 8 Viaduct Gardens, London, England, SW11 7BW. Superdrug is responsible for the carrying out of the manicure appointments at one of the Superdrug Beauty Studios locations. Participating Superdrug store teams will deliver services on-site.

This booking system is hosted on Eventbrite. Eventbrite not responsible for delivery of services and is not affiliated with the manicure treatment itself. Nothing in these Terms or in connection with the event creates a legal partnership, agency, or joint venture.

1. Bookings.

A limited number of appointments are available at participating Superdrug Beauty Studio locations below only.

Superdrug Marble Arch – Thursday 16th July, 10:00–15:30

Superdrug Rugby Elliotts Field – Thursday 16th July, 10:00–15:30

Superdrug Silverburn Glasgow – Thursday 20th August, 10:00–15:30

Superdrug Cardiff St David’s – Thursday 20th August, 10:00–15:30

Appointments are available only during the specified dates and times outlined above, with all services strictly limited to allocated time slots scheduled within these time periods. Superdrug Beauty Studios will not be able to accommodate or fulfil any manicure requests without a valid, pre-booked appointment confirmed in advance via Eventbrite within the stated event windows.

Bookings for London Marble Arch and Rugby Elliotts Field must be confirmed by 14th July 2026. Bookings for Silverburn Glasgow and Cardiff St David’s must be confirmed by 16th August 2026. Any bookings not confirmed by the relevant deadline will not be valid.

2. Eligibility and Booking Process.

Bookings are open to individuals aged eighteen (18) years or older. Each person may book one appointment only, subject to availability. All bookings must be made in advance via Eventbrite and are only valid once confirmation has been received. Bookings are allocated on a first come, first served basis and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or resold. All bookings must be made by the person who intends to attend the event, and cannot be made on behalf of someone else.

3. Arrival, Attendance and No-Shows.

Each Booking is assigned a specific appointment time. Participants must arrive on time for their allocated slot. Late arrival may result in reduced treatment time or a cancelled appointment. Failure to attend a booked appointment will be treated as a no-show and will not be eligible for rescheduling. The Organiser is under no obligation to offer alternative appointments in such circumstances.

4. Service Provision.

Each Booking entitles the participant to a complimentary manicure provided by a trained nail technician. Nail design, colour, finish and style are not guaranteed and will be determined at the sole discretion of the nail technician on the day, subject to time and availability. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse or amend services where necessary for operational, safety or hygiene reasons.

For the London Marble Arch pop-up only, nail artist Shea Osei will be present for a limited period during the event. These appointments are not separately bookable or guaranteed in advance, and allocation to Shea Osei will be made on the day at the sole discretion of the Organiser and Superdrug Beauty Studio team, subject to availability.

5. Health, Safety and Conduct.

By attending, participants confirm they are fit to receive a manicure service and will disclose beforehand any conditions that would make treatment unsuitable, including but not limited to infectious nail or skin conditions. The Organiser and Superdrug reserve the right to refuse service where they reasonably believe it is unsafe or inappropriate to proceed. Any abusive, disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in refusal of service or removal from the appointment without compensation.

6. Changes, Cancellations and Availability.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend, reschedule or cancel any Booking or appointment slot where necessary due to operational, technical or unforeseen circumstances. The Organiser and Superdrug also reserve the right to refuse service or decline bookings at their reasonable discretion, including on the day of an event for reasons including where it is required for store operations or safety reasons.

Where possible, cancellations should be avoided but the Organiser acknowledges that sometimes this is unavoidable. Participants may cancel or amend their booking by 14th July 2026 for London Marble Arch and Rugby Elliotts Field bookings. For bookings at Silverburn Glasgow and Cardiff St David’s, participants may cancel or amend their booking by 16th August 2026.

7. Personal Data.

7.1 Any personal information provided in connection with a Booking will be used solely for the purpose of administering and managing appointments and related communications. Personal Data (as those expressions are defined in the Act referred to in 7.2. below) will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and may be shared with Marie Curie only for operational purposes only.

7.2 The Organiser shall comply with all laws and regulations applicable to the Organiser’s processing of Personal Data in the course of or in connection with its performance under these Terms, including, without limitation all the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 and any regulations or instruments thereunder (the “Act”), (the “Data Protection Law”).

8. Liability.

8.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the Organiser nor Superdrug shall be liable for:

• any loss of profit, loss of business or loss of opportunity;

• damage or inconvenience; or

• any indirect or consequential loss,

arising from participation in the Booking process or attendance at the event.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms affects participants’ statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8.2 Superdrug and the Organiser will not be liable for any loss or disappointment resulting from:

• appointment delays, reduced treatment times, or rescheduling;

• cancellation or alteration of the event where reasonably necessary due to operational, safety or unforeseen circumstances; or

• refusal of service in accordance with these Terms (including for health, hygiene or safety reasons).

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction.

These Terms and any disputes or claims arising out of it shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England. All disputes or claims arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
