Manga & Anime Night – All-Ages Drawing Workshop with Jared Day

Love anime? Obsessed with manga? In this beginner-friendly night workshop, comic artist Jared Day shows you how to create an original manga character from scratch. We’ll cover expressive anime eyes, chibi vs. full-proportions, hair & costumes, dynamic action poses, and finishing touches like inking, screentone effects, highlights, and speed lines.
You’ll leave with a polished character sheet (name, power, expression row, full-body pose) and the confidence to keep drawing your own stories.

• Warm-ups for faces, hair, hands, and action poses
• Choose a style: shōnen, shōjo, slice-of-life, fantasy, mecha, or chibi
• Design your character’s silhouette, outfit, and signature power/prop
• Ink + add tone/effects; optional color pops with markers or pencils
• Sign and take home your finished character sheet

• ✏️ All materials provided: paper, pencils, fineliners, markers (bring a tablet if you prefer—optional)
