Manatees: Gentle Giants Storytime

Join Broward County’s Natural Resources - Manatee Protection program staff in an engaging Manatee Storytime. Listen to stories of how the Florida Manatee, Gentle Giants of the sea, sometimes need our help and learn what you can do to keep them safe.
Samantha Olszak, a marine biologist and environmental specialist with Broward County, focuses on marine conservation and education for the new wave of environmental stewards!
This event will feature a manatee themed Storytime, songs, crafts, and a visit from some prehistoric pals!
The of the is dedicated to protecting Broward's beaches and coastal areas, which provide habitats for a variety of species including threatened or endangered corals, manatees, and sea turtles.
To help sustain local beaches, coral reefs, and marine flora and fauna, the Marine Resources Section has developed and implemented programs related to natural and artificial reefs, manatee protection, mooring buoys, and sea turtle conservation. The Marine Resources Section also works closely with the Beach Renourishment Program.
