This one-day urban retreat explores what we know about taming and focusing our minds to help us find more peace, whatever our circumstances. Through teachings, discussion, and meditation practice, we’ll explore what Buddhist perspectives can bring to modern life.
Emotions are a driving force of human experience, and anxiety is pervasive in our fast-paced lives and world. We look for true happiness, but it is elusive. Just when we think we’ve found it, our joy often slips away. From a Buddhist perspective, the problem is that we are looking in the wrong place. It’s not that our external circumstances don’t matter. It’s that, without mastering our restless mind, even perfect circumstances won’t bring the peace we seek.
