B. Braun are delighted to invite you to the Odeon on 22nd October from 09:30 to 13:00 for Managing Challenging Wounds Today - in collaboration with B. Braun.
This half-day event will bring clinicians and nurses together to share expertise on the latest wound care protocols and evidence-based practices, helping to improve prevention and management.
The session will also highlight Prontosan from B. Braun Medical, clinically proven to support better outcomes by reducing chronic wounds, infections, and avoidable complications.

Meet the Speakers
Ms Niamh McLain - ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner)
Dublin South Wicklow (Dun Laoghaire), Public Health Nursing Service
Niamh McLain is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Tissue Viability and Vascular Care, in Dublin South Wicklow (Dun Laoghaire), Public Health Nursing Service. She has been working in wound care for almost 30 years, completing the Post Grad Diploma in Tissue Viability and Wound Management in 2002, and Master through Research in 2006. Her main interest is lower limb wounds, and wound care education. She is also an Honorary Lecturer with the RCSI and an Adjunct Lecturer/Assistant Professor with UCD.
Ms Iva Pranjic - RN, RCNS (Wound Management)
St. James Hospital
Iva is a Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist in Wound Management and Enteral Site Access Complications at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. She leads the nurse‑led surgical wound clinic, providing advanced, evidence‑based management of complex surgical wounds and enteral access sites. Her work focuses on clinical decision‑making, risk mitigation, and the development of streamlined care pathways to optimise healing and reduce complications.
Iva is actively involved in mentorship and competency‑based training across inpatient and outpatient services, with specialist expertise in SSI/SSD prevention, management and enteral site troubleshooting.
She is a member of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) and a current mentee in the EWMA Next Generation Mentorship Programme. Iva holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing Practice, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Wound Management and Tissue Viability. Her professional interests centre on innovation in wound‑care education and improving patient pathways for complex surgical wounds.
Ms Ellen Ko - Senior Global Product Manager
B. Braun Medical
Ms Ellen Ko is Senior Global Product Manager for Prontosan at B. Braun Medical, where she is responsible for shaping the long-term marketing strategy and future development of the product portfolio. She holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA, MBA from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and is trained as a home care assistant. With more than 20 years of international experience in medical devices, diagnostics, and life sciences, she has led global product launches, portfolio strategy, and scientific education initiatives across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Her work focuses on advancing evidence-based wound care through product innovation, clinical education, and collaboration with healthcare professionals worldwide.
