Join us on Saturday, February 22nd at 4:00 p.m. as we welcome the Malone University Steel Band for an afternoon that promises sunshine for the ears and joy for the soul. 🌴🎶
Steel band music traces its roots to Trinidad and Tobago, where steel pans were crafted from oil drums and tuned with remarkable precision. Each pan is carefully hammered by hand, and together they can cover the full range of an orchestra, from deep bass lines to sparkling melodies. What looks like percussion becomes harmony, rhythm, and melody all at once, a true musical marvel.
This concert is part of our ongoing Concert Series at Uniontown United Methodist Church, and it is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be received during the concert to support this series and the musicians who share their gifts with us.
