ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES:
FESTEN - Viktor Fröjd (SE) (Performance)
The success “Festen” (The Party) has toured all over Sweden previous times, made guest appearance in Norway, Germany and is now back in Malmö. When Viktor Fröjd together with the dancers invites an audience to The Party, that audience is welcome to participate in its own way, whether it’s snuggled on a sofa, sneaking stealthily around the room, or dancing right at the centre of the party.
Choreography and idea: Viktor Fröjd
Co creating dancers and artists: Joanna Holewa Chrona, Johanna Fröjd, Yared Tilahun Cederlund, Maele Sabuni, Viktor Fröjd
Lighting design and scenography: Anton Andersson
Costume design: Sarah Nakiito
Dramaturgical support: Bodil Persson
Processing #3 - Linda Hayford (FR) - Work in progress
Linda Hayford starts from her practice Shifting Pop and embarks on a new exploration with lighting designer Xavier Lescat. She sees the evening as an opportunity to experiment with a short-lived material (or not), in complete transparency, both in content, process and transformation.
[GN-z33/6 °] - BENSON A'KUYIE (GER) - Work in progress
A singer, dancer and performer, draws inspiration from the 'Krump' dance style and Afrofuturism, which shapes his artistic expression. He is assigned the Malmö Dance Week two-week residency 2024 and tonight he will share his process with us.
I MI CHOREFTRIA - KALLI (GR) - Work in progress
Kalliopi Tarasidou, known as Kalli, is a dancer and choreographer based in Thessaloniki, Greece, specializing in the Waving dance style. Tonight we get to see a work in progress of Kalli's new piece that delves into themes of identity, self-discovery and fragility through movement and technology.
CAMPING - Erik Linghede (SE) - Work in progress
Erik loves camping and tonight he invite you to his camp site. Come by the camp and have a cup of coffee and a conversation with Erik.
Maria Naidu (SE) - Line Dance
She has already met around 1,800 people in the municipality and taught them to line dance. On the 29th, she takes the social dance to A Little Bit of Everything.
Esther Kirabo (SE) - Live music
Weaving the playfulness of jazz with dreamy R'n'B beats and bouncy UK garage loops, Esther Kirabo draws the listener into a soft and magical universe of neo-soul. She has previously supported Eric Gadd and during the summer she toured together with Timbuktu and the jazz trio MASAKA.
Frida Rådlund (SE) - Live art
Frida Rådlund (b.1993) is a Malmö-based textile artist from Gothenburg. Her artistry revolves around exploring textile techniques such as tufting, weaving and textile sculpture in connection with themes of tenderness, longing, grief and betrayal. Tonight she will create a big rug.
