Hear Below: Listening to Chicago Underground –We are excited that NON:op Open Opera Works and the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology @midwestsocae have partnered for the fifth year in a row to bring you "Hear Below," guided and self-guided soundwalks through Chicago's Pedway system. This year, Hear Below re-introduces a self-guided edition, "My Pedway Soundwalk," curated by teaching artist intern Mallory Yanhan Qiu @qiumallory The "My Pedway soundwalk" invites participants to rediscover the art of listening and share their experiences with the Hear Below Community Archive. With the help of simple tools provided on the My Pedway Soundwalk webpage, such as the Pedway map, routes, and points of sonic interest, you can create your own soundwalk and record your personal experience using audio, video, images, and text. Share it with NON:op Open Opera Works to contribute to the developing archive.
