BIO:
Heather is board certified in three clinical specialties; intervention, family dynamics, and relapse prevention. As an accomplished expert in the specialized field of addiction and co-occurring mental health, she is known for successful outcomes in the most complicated cases. She is preferred for being highly skilled at recovery coaching and negotiating change, using motivational techniques such as tactical empathy and emotional intelligence while preserving her clients’ privacy, dignity, and respect. She has extensive experience working with individuals struggling with substance and behavioral addictions as well as mood disorders. Her success comes from a firm belief that it’s not just about getting someone into treatment. It’s about getting the family back on the same page.
She is currently the host of The Recovery Report, an informative treatment resource for people seeking help with addiction and mental health. She is also featured on local and national media outlets discussing addiction, codependency, and relapse prevention. Heather is a board member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office DUILA Parent/Student Education committee. She is known for successfully piloting 12 Step AA and Alateen adolescent meetings throughout the Scottsdale Unified School District and speaking on behalf of the Arizona Governor’s Youth Commission.
