The Making Waves Group is monthly a peer support group for people of North Tyneside living with dementia and their carers.We offer a relaxed, friendly, safe, and welcoming environment at The Exchange Theatre in North Tyneside. Carers and family members have the opportunity to catch up, share information, experiences, and offer informal support to one another over a cuppa, whilst the person with dementia is able to enjoy some meaningful engagement and activity.
Since returning to our face to face sessions in 2021 the people living with dementia group have been busy creating some seasonal art work and poetry.
We wanted to celebrate the group, and what it means to the people of North Tyneside alongside our partners.
Please come along from 16:30-18:30, there will be a raffle, with some fabulous prizes and at 7pm the Jazz by 4B will commences.
The group is part of the Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project (DEEP) these groups provide a space for people in similar circumstances to meet up for support or be collective voices for change.
