About this Event
Sharing research with over 300 Episcopal congregations through a ministry called RenewalWorks, we will discuss those things which contribute to spiritual growth in our churches. We’ll explore the ways we understand spiritual growth, and share thoughts on why it is so important for our congregations. The research we share will give a snapshot of where many Episcopal congregations find themselves these days, and offer ways that congregations can move forward in a deeper, more vital spiritual life.
About Jay Sidebotham:
The recently retired Rev. Jay Sidebotham lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he continues consultation with RenewalWorks, a ministry of Forward Movement and where he pursues his vocation as a visual artist. Ordained to the priesthood in 1991, Jay served parishes in Rhode Island, Washington, DC, Durham, NC, New York City and Lake Forest, Illinois. He attended Union Seminary in New York. Prior to that course of study, he worked in illustration, graphic design, and advertising in Manhattan. He also worked as an animator for Schoolhouse Rock. He considers it a great privilege to create cartoons for the Episcopal Church. (There’s a lot of material.) He is married to Frances Murchison. They have two adult children, each married, and four quite splendid grandchildren.
