About this Event
Join us on Tuesday 26 May at 6:30pm at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) for an evening exploring the intersection of science, art, and society, organised by the CONNECT Research Ireland Centre as part of Dublin Tech Week.
As quantum research rapidly advances, questions remain around how these complex ideas are interpreted, shared, and valued by wider society. This event will examine the gaps between technical research and public understanding, addressing themes of accessibility, interpretation, and societal impact.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to view recent artwork by Nadia J. Armstrong, whose practice explores the intersection of quantum research, technology, and the body.
In addition, the IrelandQCI Quantum and Answers trailer will be available to view on-site, offering further insight into Ireland’s work in quantum communication and public engagement.
Host
Dan Kilper
Director of the CONNECT Centre and Professor of Future Communication Networks, Trinity College Dublin
Discussion Chair
Claudia Fracchiolla
Head of Public Engagement at the American Physical Society. With over a decade of experience in physics education research and a background in astro-particle physics, Claudia specialises in informal learning, identity in science, and widening access to physics.
