This is our second run of this dumpling class!
"Culinary cultures around the world have dishes with dough with fillings: empanadas, calzones, pierogi, pasties, momo, samosa.. and the list goes on. What’s less known is that dumplings are quite easy to make and very versatile. It is a great way to create amazing meals out of what’s locally in season or what happens to be in your refrigerator!" - Megumi Sugihara
In this class, Megumi will teach you dumpling making techniques of East Asian traditions. Together you will make some bao zi (steamed pork bun style), gyoza (pot stickers), and possibly cong hua bing (onion pancake). Both vegetarian and meat eater versions will be made with Washington grown wheat flour (sorry there is no gluten-free options for this workshop). Once you master basic techniques, it's truly “sky is the limit” for your creative endeavor.
Whether you're a dumpling enthusiast or a novice in the kitchen, this hands-on event is perfect for anyone looking to have fun and learn something new.
Could be a lovely date night idea! ;)
$25 per ticket
(youth over 12 years old is welcome with an accompanying adult)
See you on Friday, June 22nd @3:00pm at South Sound Fresh.
Time to put some sass into your dumpling making skills!
