About this Event
Join us as we embody and explore a whole new appreciation for the intricacies of objects and what repairing them can teach us.
We will explore the question: How might the repair of objects and hands-on making be a mirror through which we can discover our own healing?
Repair and creative making presents us with a beautiful opportunity to reimagine a world of healing different from current spaces where humans, like objects, are often treated as disposable.
Participants will:
- Develop a repair mindset
- Access thinking routines to use with students across content areas & grade levels
- Unlock their inner creative child
Additional benefits:
- Have space and time to pause, reflect, and plan
- Be in community of like-minded Bay Area educators
- Enjoy good food and a good time!
- Repair/repurpose an object you bring to the workshop 😉
Come experience how Maker-Centered Learning through object exploration, repair, and making can serve as a healing modality for the relationships we have with ourselves, each other and the systems in our world.
