Immersive and experimental projection art.
The Mill Adelaide
Sat 08 July - Fri 28 July
__________
The Mill presents Make|Shift, an immersive and experimental exhibition of projection art by six South Australian multidisciplinary artists.
Free for all to attend, enjoy opening weekend at The Mill on 08 - 09 July and experience works created by multidisciplinary artists James Alberts, Ray Harris, Sarah Neville, Liam Somerville, Inneke Taal, and Tanya Voges, brought together under Artistic & Curatorial Facilitator Margie Medlin with mentors Cindi Drennan and Tim Gruchy.
Taking place across The Mill's Exhibition Space, Showcase Gallery, The Breakout, and other outdoor spaces, Make|Shift projects cinematic ephemera across the right angles, adjacent walls, corridors, and crevasses of the galleries. With the artists surveying and exploring new terrains like geographers, these works aim to create place, encourage encounters with speculative objects, and tell stories of our time.
The Mill and Access2Arts will present two accessible tours of Make|Shift: a live Audio Description Tour and an AUSLAN Tour with Deaf Connect.

About the program:
Make|Shift is part of The Mill’s Expand Program, a responsive process and development program with interest in challenging artists to explore interdisciplinary, site-specific, and audience-focused new work. Expand supports artists to explore different modes of collaborating and encourages peer-learning, enabling risk taking, experimentation, and freedom of expression in the creation and realisation of new works. Expand invites audiences to not only appreciate but actively participate in the practice of art-making through artist talks, Q&As, and public workshops.
_________
Make|Shift has been developed through Expand’s Cinematic Experiments: Projection Techniques and Technologies program.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
Make|Shift and Cinematic Experiments: Projection Techniques and Technologies are presented with support from City of Adelaide.
