Makers Meet Up at Manchester Art Gallery

Join us for a day out at the historic Manchester Art Gallery to soak up some textile art and explore the gallery.

We’ll start by exploring the new exhibition, 'WORN: The Life within Clothes'. The exhibition showcases the breadth of Manchester City Galleries’ fashion and dress collection through a ‘slow fashion’ lens with a focus on the lifecycle of clothing. It highlights pieces that have been mended, altered, customised and recycled, examining the longevity, preservation and consumption of clothing and the notion of value through human connection, history, memory and storytelling.

After we’ve taken in the art, we’ll head over to the cafe to grab a coffee, a bite to eat, and discuss our favorite pieces from the show. Once we’ve refuelled, we'll spend the afternoon exploring the rest of the gallery.
