Maker Morning: Making Art, Making Sound

Join the Clyfford Still Museum from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, for an art and sound-inspired session of Maker Mornings. Spend time in the galleries experiencing the sonic interpretations of our current exhibition, "Still in Sound." Explore and interact with our hands-on gallery! Play three simple acoustic instruments—a frame drum, a kalimba, and a steel handpan—to create your own combination of colors and patterns on the wall and create your own sonic vision. Respond to the sounds around you by creating an artwork in The Making Space!
Maker Mornings are designed for children from 15 months to eight years old, with siblings of any age welcome.
There is so much to explore! We will interact with various materials, expand our ideas of what it means to create, and express ourselves through art and sound. The open-endedness of this time is intentional, allowing all children to interact with the activities in their own unique ways. We encourage you to observe what your child gravitates towards, ask questions, and get curious.
