In this class, you will make your own stereoscope using cardboard and lenses. This class is a fun and educational way to combine creativity, science, and history. It’s exciting to build a simple device that creates a 3D illusion from two flat images—like making your own old-fashioned virtual reality viewer. Along the way, you’ll learn about how human vision works, how lenses affect light, and how people experienced early photography in the 19th century. Explore optics, art, and technology all at once in this hands-on STEM-rich class.
