Make Your Own Masquerade Mask (Costume Workshop)

Create something dramatic, sparkly and completely your own!
Join us at Rooster Kitchen & Bar on Whyte Avenue for a relaxed and creative evening where you’ll design and decorate your very own masquerade mask from start to finish!
Choose from five different mask styles, then make it uniquely yours using a colourful selection of paints, glitter, sequins, crystals, feathers, beads and other embellishments.
Go elegant and understated, colourful and theatrical, dark and mysterious, or completely over the top. There are no rules, and no previous art experience is needed.
Over the course of this 2-hour workshop, I’ll guide you through the process and share simple ideas and techniques to help you create a mask you’ll actually be excited to wear.
Your workshop includes:
- Your choice of one theatrical masquerade mask from five available styles
- Paints and decorating supplies
- Glitter, sequins, crystals, feathers and beads
- All tools and materials provided
- Step-by-step guidance throughout the workshop
- Two hours of guided creative time, stay as long as you like
- One fabulous finished mask to take home
Your finished mask will be ready for Halloween, masquerade parties, office events, costume parties, photoshoots or just wear it around the house!
Want to make two? Additional masks will also be available for purchase at the workshop if you want to keep going!
No experience necessary
This workshop is designed for beginners and experienced makers alike. You don’t need to consider yourself artistic. I’ll provide plenty of inspiration, and you can make your mask as simple or elaborate as you like.
About the venue
We’ll be creating together at Rooster Kitchen & Bar on Whyte Avenue, a welcoming local restaurant, pub and growing arts and music space in the heart of one of Edmonton’s most entertaining neighbourhoods.
Refreshments will be available to purchase from Rooster during the workshop if you’d like, but there is absolutely no obligation to order anything during our class.
Come on your own, bring a friend, or make it a creative night out before Halloween!
All materials are supplied. Just bring yourself and your imagination.
What you’ll leave with
By the end of the evening, you’ll leave with one (maybe two) completely unique, hand-decorated masquerade mask, ready to wear and made entirely by you.
