About this Event
Hosted by Abertay Game Lab and Manchester Game Center, MAKE/PLAY is a one day symposium investigating how designing games and playful experiences creates knowledge and how this knoweldge is shared through and beyond the game itself.
Over the course of the day we will host practitioners and academic presentations exploring the practice of making games and play, investigating the ways in which the process of making allows new meaning and knowledge to emerge. There will be a series of interactive playfull workshops and an exhibition of games and play from participants.
This event is open to practitioners, academics, students and individuals who are interested in games, play and creative processes. A schedule for the event will be made available on the 14th November.
If you would like to submit a presentation or work to be showcased in the exhibition, the call for participation is open until 31/10/25 end of day AOE. To submit, please use this online form: MAKE / PLAY – Fill in form
The event is organised by Hailey Austin (Abertay University), Mona Bozdog (Abertay University), Chloé Germaine (Manchester Metropolitan University) Lynn Love (Abertay University), and Paul Wake (Manchester Metropolitan University)
