Muskogee is the ONLY city in Oklahoma to celebrate the national annual Make Music Winter parade initiative for the first day of winter on Saturday, December 21! The Butterfly Papilion and Make Music Muskogee will host a courtyard walkways parade and live music concert starting at 6:00 pm. Free percussion instruments thanks to Rhythm Band Instruments and other donors will be passed out to parade participants, and participants may also bring their own instruments—acoustic guitars, ukuleles, other stringed instruments, even brass and woodwind instruments, and voices! We will sing/play holiday songs as we walk, selected randomly by shout out/consensus, and The Moriah Nicholson Jazz Combo will perform after the parade.
The Butterfly Papilion Gift Shop and Concession Stand will be open for sweet treats—both gifts and food—and especially hot chocolate!
