Make Music Madison will take place at Bierock on Friday June 21 with four acts performing throughout the afternoon and into the evening.An annual tradition in the city, Make Music Madison takes place on the summer solstice. It’s part of international Make Music Day, which takes place in over 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
In the past, over 1,000 musicians have taken part in more than 380 shows at more than 100 venues in Madison alone.
The performance schedule at Bierock is as follows…
3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sea Monsters—Pop, Rock
4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Drive-a-tron—Indie Pop, Rock, Electronic
6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thrash Pandas—Rock, Alternative, Reggae
7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Mother Material—Classic Rock, Grunge, Alternative
Sea Monsters is a five-piece band playing a delicious smorgasbord of tunes, from classic rock sing-a-longs to pop favorites and even an occasional flamenco jam. They’ll have you tappin’ your feet, pumpin’ your fist, and telling your friends “Dude, I love this song!” Covered artists include The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, CCR, The Band, Weezer, Hootie, and Taylor Swift.
Drive-a-tron is an indie-pop/rock band mixing together heavy grooves, unexpected harmonies, and poetic lyrics as main ingredients and has been compared to the music of LCD Soundsystem, Ratatat, and Beck. Lightweight and easy to pack, Drive-a-tron is typically run by one person (Paul Vash—Madison, WI) who writes the songs, plays the instruments, makes the videos, and changes the oil. Dancing, sweating, and joy are the goals of Drive-a-tron, but a closer look at the song lyrics may surprise you with stories of complex characters and situations.
Thrash Pandas are a six-piece rock band consisting of two vocalists, two guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. They primarily play covers of ’90s alternative rock and variations on modern songs. They can be found playing both bars and neighborhood parties in the 608.
Mother Material is a Madison based rock band that performs original material. Influences in their sound include psychedelic and classic rock along with ’90s grunge and alternative. They enjoy having fun and make every show a blast! Check them out wherever you stream music.

There is no cover charge but tipping the musicians is encouraged.
