What is Make Music?Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, Make Music is celebrated on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in dozens of countries around the world.
Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. Make Music Day Philadelphia
Make Music Philly is a FREE festival taking place in various neighborhoods in Philadelphia, PA and its surrounding suburbs on June 21st every year.
This year the Elements Of Hip Hop has collaborated with Make Music Philly to produce an eight hour event dedicated to hip hop on the lawn of the Leon Sullivan Charitable Trust building at 1415 north Broad street near Temple University in north Philadelphia. 11am-7pm.
Participation is encouraged from all ages, genres, from indie rock to bluegrass to a cappella, from music students to professional artists and everything in-between.
Make Music Philly’s primary goals are to provide an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels, interests, and walks of life, and to inspire the next generation of musicians through innovative outreach programming.
This celebration is not limited to residents of Philly, but invites music enthusiasts from everywhere to come participate by performing, attending, or volunteering.
The event will be recorded by Reel Black who has more than one million YouTube followers and this is a great opportunity for national exposure for everyone involved and we're excited to provide the platform.
