Make More with Less: Video Marketing Strategies for Startups
About this Event
Communicating your company’s product and mission is key to your success, and there is no better tool to do so than video. But for most startups, a professional videographer, editor, or designer is simply not in the budget.
Join us to discover software programs, resources, strategies, and best practices to produce effective videos. This session will cover:
- Foundational considerations when making a video (strategy, templates, and workflows)
- Basic tips for photography and recording video
- Programs like Adobe, CapCut, and Canva
- When and how to use AI video generators or hire outside talent
- The Media Lab capabilities, free to members of NextCorps
This is an in-person workshop and lunch will be provided. Space is limited and registration closes at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 13.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Chris Carpenter manages all marketing needs for Venture For ClimateTech and Scale For ClimateTech, including lead generation, videos, podcasts, social media, and content for events and newsletters. Before joining NextCorps, Chris managed reporters and videographers in multiple roles, including acting as the liaison between Congress and all broadcast media on Capitol Hill and as an assignment editor for Spectrum News. In addition, he supported the NBC Olympic Broadcast for the 2014 and 2016 Olympic games in various roles. Chris is a seasoned videographer, and has produced and animated programs for HealthCentral.Com, TheBody, WXXI, Grid Alternatives, and The Climate Mobilization. Chris has a B.S. in Television–Radio Media Production from Ithaca College.
