Join us for a one-day, beginner-friendly stained glass workshop and create your own beautiful glass ornament. Choose from a native bird, a small landscape, a flower, or an abstract design — or develop a simple idea of your own.
You’ll be guided step by step through the Tiffany stained glass technique, a timeless method for crafting intricate and luminous glass work. From selecting and cutting your glass to foiling and soldering, you’ll learn the essential skills needed to bring your design to life.
Your finished piece will measure approximately 20–25cm and consist of around 10–15 glass pieces — an ideal scale to ensure you can complete your work within the day while gaining confidence in glass cutting, fitting, foiling, and soldering.
This is a hands-on, small-group workshop designed to give you the time, guidance, and encouragement you need. By the end of the day, you’ll head home with a handcrafted ornament and a genuine understanding of how stained glass comes together — along with the quiet satisfaction of having made something enduring and beautiful.
Evelyn Bos is a Nelson-based visual artist and experienced workshop facilitator, known for creating welcoming, hands-on learning environments where creativity and skill-building go hand in hand.
Through her studio, Studio127, she has guided a wide range of participants — from complete beginners to developing artists — in stained glass and other art forms. Her teaching combines clear step-by-step instruction with an emphasis on experimentation, confidence, and the quiet satisfaction of making. Drawing on her background in education and learning design, Evelyn structures her workshops so that complex processes become accessible and enjoyable. Participants leave not only with a finished piece, but with practical skills, creative insight, and a sense of achievement.
