MAKE LOVE in this two-part workshop with poets Gloria Muñoz and Tyler Gillespie, and Kaitlin Crockett of Print St. Pete.
Gloria and Tyler will lead an intimate group of 10 attendees through a love poetry workshop, and participants will use this as inspiration to later print their own Valentine’s Day cards with Kaitlin.
Part 1 (Feb. 1st from 10am-1pm): We’ll start the workshop by reading some favorite poems to discuss how writers approach the subject of love: romantic, platonic, and self. We’ll then generate our own poems and discuss ways to incorporate this text into the RISO Valentine’s Day card attendees will print in Part Two.
Part 1 will end with a RISO demo and a friendly introduction to the range of printing techniques, with options for designing both analog and digital cards.
Attendees will have a week to finalize their work and then return to print it in Part Two.
Part 2 (Feb. 8th): During their selected time slot, attendees will print their Valentines in a one-on-one session with Kaitlin.
In addition, attendees take home a Print St. Pete RISO color chart and upon completion will be eligible to return for studio time by appointment to use the Risograph.
$175/person includes all supplies.
