Sometimes a yoga practice creates a powerful effect, and sometimes it does not. For most of us, when and how yoga affects us seems like a coincidence—but it doesn’t have to be that way. In this workshop, we will explore simple techniques to intentionally create powerful effects.
There are many different effects one can gain from a yoga practice. Simon will share his three favorite strategies, each leading to a distinct outcome. One fosters a state of openness and acceptance. The second cultivates stability and fearlessness. The third energizes and brings joy to our lives. Participants will receive handouts to support the learning process.
This workshop is designed for anyone—students and teachers alike—who wish to enhance the impact of their practice or classes. You don’t need to be particularly strong or flexible to participate, but you should be prepared for a long, in-depth yoga practice with technical details. The workshop is not suitable for absolute beginners, but if you can perform sun salutations without difficulty, you will be fine.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Simon lives in Nørrebro and has taught yoga for 25 years. He was the first person in Denmark to achieve the highest certification level with Yoga Alliance and holds a master’s degree in philosophy with a special focus on Indian philosophy. He teaches asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy at various teacher training programs. Over the past three years, he has been primarily involved in projects within the field of psychiatry. Simon is the author of two books on yoga and is currently working on his third. He is a member of the co-working community at RÖRT, where his classes and workshops are playful yet always focused on the deeper aspects of yoga and life.
The workshop will be split in two sessions, with a lunch break in between:
