The weekly project is anything with aspen trees*. We have an easy design to personalize, pick your leaf colors. A 7in piece starts at $40, an 12in x7in piece starts at $63, or choose any of our blanks to set your own price point (price does not include tax and the $12 per maker studio fee). For this project there is a 5-15% upcharge for heavy frit usage and paint. No experience is necessary. To see photos of examples, go to Instagram or Facebook and search for #cegaspen
*You are not limited to only making the weekly project - we encourage flexibility and creativity. There are a wide variety of projects that you can choose to make.
Look for a Calendar item called Open Studio for this weeks hours. Reservations are required. A $12/person non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation. (If cancelled with at last 48 hour notice, deposit can be used for a future maker session.)
Plan on spending 2-3 hours of making time depending on the project you choose. Reservations are required but tables are sometimes available with short notice. Call ahead to ensure that you get a table.
Creative Escape Glass LLC is a fused glass open studio where you can make your own pieces! Open studio hours mean you get to learn glass cutting basics and fused glass basics with project flexibility.
There is no cost to visit the studio and basic glass cutting tutorials are available online. If you want to make a piece to take home with you, there is a per person studio fee of $12 and then popular projects start at $18 and go up from there based on the size of the project and materials used. Average project cost is $34. Pieces are normally ready to pick up within a week, or shipping is available for an additional fee.
Children 13+ can normally do an independent project, kids 8-11 may need an adult assistant, 7 and younger definitely need a one-on-one adult assistant. Young children not involved in the creation process are not a good idea since the front of the studio is full of breakables and the back of the studio is full of sharp edges, all within easy reach. Neither of you will have fun if you must spend your time trying to keep them away from pretty, shiny objects.
