This event will take place in person. Working on a graphic novel? Or are you excited to learn more about the comic book industry? Then join us for this special comic making workshop, where we'll be join by comic artists, Julio Anta and Jacoby Salcedo, creators of the YA graphic novel, FRONTERA. Here will learn about concepting, characters, layouts, and formats and before you know it, you are on your way to create your own comic! This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone who wants to explore comics and cartooning.


For Children and Teens 10-18. Space is limited so registration is required. Please provide a name and email address.

Julio Anta is a Cuban and Colombian American author from Miami, Florida. He currently resides in New York City where he works to tell narratively rich stories about diverse Latinx characters for readers of all ages. He is best known for his comic book series HOME, published by Image Comics, and his work at Marvel and DC Comics.

Jacoby Salcedo is a comic book illustrator who is based in Portland, Oregon. He is the co-creator of the Harper Collins YA graphic novel, FRONTERA with frequent collaborator, Julio Anta. He is also the artist on Dark Horse mini-series, IT'S ONLY TEENAGE WASTELAND with writer Curt Pires. Jacoby has also been featured in multiple comic anthologies such as DC's Legion of Bloom, Panel X Panel, Graphic Mundi's Covid Chronicles, and A Wave Blue World Young Men in Love.
