What is Make & Tell?

It’s simple: bring anything you’re making or working on or thinking about making or working on: a song, a quilt, an idea, a car, a drink, a tattoo, a poem, a plan, or really any creative work-in-progress. You show it, tell a bit about it, and we all ask questions and discuss. It’s super relaxed but often surprising and inspiring. And, of course, you can simply just attend and enjoy the night without bringing anything — it's just as interesting to sit back and ask questions.

What Happens Each Night?

6:30p-7p: Drinks

A welcome cocktail plus beer/wine & lite appetizers included with your ticket.

7p-7:45p: Open Mic

This is when you share your thing!

8p-8:45p: Featured Presenter & Q&A

8:45p-??: What's better than a party? An after-party!

Seating is limited. Please purchase a ticket to reserve your spot. Tickets include entry, a welcome cocktail plus beer/wine, and lite appetizers. If you're interested in sharing during the Open Mic, please be sure to indicate that when you get your ticket. Proceeds from ticket sales help us keep Make & Tell going and pay a stipend to our featured presenters.

2024 Featured Presenter

October 16 • Juan Fuentes, Photographer

Juan Fuentes is a photo-based artist born in Chihuahua, México and raised in the Northside neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. His kinship to the barrio is evident within his photography, installations, and community projects which explore intimate stories of everyday life of immigrants and Chicanos in the U.S. Utilizing photographs, Juan examines the visual and emotional artifacts of memory, erasure, and family - creating records that affirm and center marginalized communities. On the Dirt, Our Knees Tell Truths is an ongoing project that looks into the nuance of the immigrant experience in the U.S. by challenging viewers into seeing new and complex ideas of the experience.
