Our classes and workshops are the perfect “unique” alternative to a material gift or “stuff” for any occasion! On June 14 the United States celebrates Flag Day. The holiday commemorates the date in 1777 when the United States approved the design for its first national flag. Learn turning basics as you use a wood lathe to turn a custom pen body using Rockler’s American Beauty Twist pen hardware kit. You will complete your very own American Beauty to cherish or give away as a gift! We will provide the pen kit, tools and all other materials to finish this great project. New to woodworking or used a lathe before? No problem! We will guide you through the whole process. It's fun and easier than you think. We have done dozens of these classes; they are one of our most popular, with great results from our students. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases.
