Learn new skills while making a cutting board. Perfect for a gift or personal use!
Skill level - Beginner | Introduction to intricate power tool skills.
You will learn:
• How to read grain direction and how it applies to various tools.
• Intro to table saw sleds/jigs & best practices when choosing tools/methods vs the desired outcome.
• Understanding glue types & their different clamp pressures & uses.
• Tools used, jointer, planer, drum sander, palm sander, router table, table saw, clamps.
This course is open to everyone from novice makers first starting to create to veteran craftspeople looking to expand their skillset.
You do not have to be a MakerspaceCT member to attend, but all students must sign up online and pay tuition to attend this class.
PLEASE NOTE: Makerspace is an 18+ only facility.
In order to comply with physical distancing and occupancy requirements, this program is currently limited to no more than four (4) participants at a time.
Admission fee covers tuition + materials. Students must attend both sessions of this workshop.
