Make a Video About Almost Anything!
Location: Cubberley Community Center, Studio U1
Have you ever wanted to tell a story about yourself, your community, or a topic you care about? In this hands-on CASP workshop, participants will learn the basics of documentary filmmaking from an award-winning filmmaker, using only a smartphone or tablet.
Through simple exercises and examples, you'll discover how to develop an idea, capture meaningful footage, and edit a short documentary-style video. Whether you're interested in exploring your own experiences, documenting a personal passion, or highlighting something happening around you, this workshop will provide practical tools to help you get started.
No previous filmmaking experience is required!
What to Bring:
- A smartphone or tablet with a camera
- The free VN Video Editor app installed before the workshop
- An optional small tripod or phone stand (helpful, but not required)
Who Can Attend: Youth and adults interested in storytelling, filmmaking, art, community, or creative self-expression. Students under the age of 16 are welcome to attend when accompanied by an adult.
