In this friendly hands-on workshop, you'll learn a traditional hand sewn patchwork skill and use it to sew your own pincushion to take home.Join me for a hand sewing workshop and make a cute pumpkin or tomato pincushion to take home.
We’ll be using a centuries-old patchwork method called English Paper Piecing (EPP). If you’re new to it, I'll take you through this simple and versatile sewing style with demonstrations, hands-on help, and plenty of examples of how this wonderful technique can be used in countless projects.
By the end of the session you'll have learned the basics of EPP and made a cute and useful pincushion to take home.
The workshop includes:
All materials and equipment including a choice of fabric
Small groups
Hot and cold drinks
Choice of dates and times
The venue is a lovely community library (after-hours so it'll be nice and peaceful)
EPP is a traditional patchwork technique where fabric pieces are folded over paper or card templates before being sewn together. The templates are then removed, leaving you with perfectly shaped patchwork.
Sounds complicated? It really isn't - but fair warning, EPP can be addictive!
It's often used to make quilts, cushions, and other larger-scale items, but we're starting small. This way you can learn the basics if this method is new to you, and make something cute and useful without committing to a huge project.
