About this Event

What is a Jacob's Ladder Box?

It is actually a double box! Two identical boxes with hinged lids are joined together in a manner inspired by the Jacob's Ladder toy. This special hinging method allows for the boxes to "roll" around each other so that the contents of either one, or both, boxes can be accessed and displayed at any one time.

Expert bookbinder and box maker, Don Taylor, will guide you through process step by step. From constructing the boxes, to covering them in luxurious Lacquered Yuzen and Moriki Kozo papers (you will be able to choose one patterned and one solid-coloured paper on the registration form). At the end of the workshop, you will go home with a beautiful Jacob's Ladder Box and the knowledge to make more! This workshop is beginner friendly.

Participants are asked to please bring:
  • a notebook & pen
  • an apron, or dress in studio attire
  • your lunch!

All tools & materials included. Box-board will be pre-cut.
The cost of this ticket includes: $149.00 workshop fee, Eventbrite fees and HST for a total cost of $180.82
