The only thing better than giving a handmade gift at the holidays is getting a handmade gift - and even better if it was made by a younger family member. Here is the chance to open the world of wood turning to a youth. Come join the team at Woodcraft and have your child (or children) learn to turn a family heirloom - a pen. The pen can be a great Christmas gift for someone special or just a memory of time spent together at Christmas. In this class, there will be a 30-minute session on pen-making in general. The presenter will first review all the techniques and skills needed to craft a handmade pen - component selection, drilling, blank selection, blank prep, turning, and assembly. We will look beyond wood and some of the unique pens that can be made. Then the fun begins - the Woodcraft team will supervise your special someone in turning and assembling their own wood pen. Your student will turn, finish, and assemble their very own keepsake. Not only will this be a fun project - it will be a fun afternoon spent together.The minimum age for participants is 9 years old. Must be accompanied by one adult at all times. Class Fee is $10
