A 19th century holiday tradition.
About this Event

This is Nancy of Nanci's Fancies, one of the co-op members. In the 19th century, German households began making Christmas trees out of goose feathers. Every year I make them for the shop, and every year someone asks if I'm going do a workshop and teach people how to make them. This is the year.

As a follow-up to our Christmas in July sale on July 18, I will be Teaching you how to make your own unique feather tree and telling you the history of these trees.

All tools and materials will be provided and I can get dyed goose feathers in a wide variety of colors. Just bring yourself and take home a lovely little tree. We like to call them the first artificial Christmas Tree. Suggested age 12 and up. Children under 12 can attend for free but will assist with their adults tree instead of making one on their own.

Class is limited to 8 participants. Cost for the workshop is $45.
